Hello all! Minnesota Renaissance Festival is hosting a new program this year for young artists to come and display their artwork during the festival weekends. I just found out today that I'm going to be a part of that! I'll get part of a tent and can display my paintings and sell whatever I want as well. It's going to be awesome and if any of you are coming to Ren Fest this Saturday, be sure to find the Young at Art tent and say hi. There's going to be some awesome work there.

I have an insanely busy day getting ready for this, but I'm excited. I think I'll even start a new painting and work on it at the fest throughout the day, so people will be able to see the actual progress of a painting. I'm also planning to offer commissions so that anyone who is interested can get a free photoshoot at the festival, in costume on the awesome grounds, and then I'll paint it after the fair and send the final oil painting to them.

I also want to take time to roam around and get pictures of the fair itself, and hopefully have some great reference out of that. I especially want to do a portrait of Twig eventually, the green fairy who plays the pipes. Anyway, I'm excited! If you'll be there, please come say hi!

On another note, the trip out to West Virginia to see my new niece went great. I spent some great time with my sister and had so much fun playing with my nephew, and got to hold my niece a whole bunch. Even the drive wasn't too bad; my mom and I get along well so 2000 miles and 36 hours in a car together went fine. I'm very tired though, since we drove 18 hours yesterday and all I want to do is sleep.
