((took the watermark off, driving me nuts))

First picture of 2009!

Weekend project, sadly enough. I did it over a two day span, and spent about 12 hours on it (and this was just the first layer). But since I don't think there is much at all that I will change, I'm submitting it now.

I think this is my favorite painting of mine to date. The whole time I was painting it I would start dancing around the living room because I was so excited about it. Mainly because I love the movie.

So I was watching the dvd of Ever After and saying how I should paint a picture like the cover some day because it's such an awesome photo. My mom says why don't I just paint that one. So I did. And I love it! So much color, and intensity, and such a feeling of tenderness, and I'm more excited that I get to have it in my room than anything.

And if you haven't seen Ever After, I suggest renting it. It's the best "real" telling of Cinderella I've ever seen.

Oil on canvas, 16x20 in.

Inigo Montoya: Where we did we put that wheelbarrow the albino had?
Fezzik: Over the albino, I think.

Thank you! I'm so excited about how she looks...somehow it turned out even more like her than the picture. I guess I just watch the movie too much. ^_^

Definitely. Putting Da Vinci in the fairy godmother role was brilliant.
