I always think of winter, especially January, as an emergence. New year emerging from the old, spring from winter, life from a deep sleep.

Final project for illustration class. I think this was definitely one of my favorites to do, even though doing it in watercolor was a bit of a challenge...considering that I've only done a couple rather crappy things in watercolor before.

So technique was watercolor with slight digital to fix what the scanner did to it and add the texture. Texture was a custom brush that I made from a picture I took of a frosted window.
